About Our Kindy Days

Our Kindergarten day operates from 8:15am until 3:15pm each day during the school terms. The door will be closed until 8:15am each morning to allow staff to prepare for the day. When you arrive at your child’s class we ask that you sign-in your child from 8:15am onwards with your full name and signature as this is a legal requirement. Please encourage your child to put away their lunchbox, water bottle and sheets. We also ask you to apply your child’s sunscreen. You may pick up your child anytime up until 3:15pm.

Extended Hours

At Glennie, we understand that families sometimes need longer days for their Kindy children. Our Kindy Care program is available from 3:15pm to 6:00pm on weekdays during term time, with vacation care available from 7:30am to 6:00pm each weekday during school holiday periods. Our Kindy Vacation Care program is also open to non-Glennie students. For further information, please contact Glennie’s Pitstop:

Uniform Requirements

Our Kindergarten children wear the Glennie School Sports Uniform. Uniforms are available for purchase from our Glennie One Stop Shop (GOSS). They have a selection of new and good quality second-hand uniforms for purchase. The GOSS is open every weekday during term time from 8:00am until 4:00pm and will also open during the holiday period by appointment only. A Bucket Hat is included with your enrolment, you do not need to purchase this as it will be given to your child on their first day of Kindy. We ask that students wear predominantly white joggers and girls with long hair must have their hair tied back and wear navy school ribbons. Please contact the staff at GOSS on 07 4688 8831 to arrange a time to purchase your child’s uniform. There are no stationery requirements for Kindy students.

What to Bring

We ask that you provide a few spare changes of clothes and

underwear for your child in case of accidents or they get wet during some activities. These can be plain clothes from home. You will also need to bring a set of cot sheets and a cuddly toy for your child’s rest each afternoon, a water bottle, a lunch box with morning tea and lunch, and a roll-on sunscreen. Please ensure ALL your child’s uniform and belongings are named, including lunch box, water bottle, shoes, and socks.

Morning Tea and Lunch

We encourage healthy eating at Kindy and request that you please provide either fruit or yoghurt as part of morning tea and sandwiches or leftovers for lunch. A fridge is available to keep your child’s lunch cool. Leftovers that are warm can be brought to Kindy in a thermos. Please note we ask the children not to bring food items containing tree nuts and peanuts as it may affect students with these allergies.
